Harvest Rebound

by Westgarth Wines November 05, 2018

2017 yielded a shortage of wine and the subsequent price hikes. Fortunately, 2018 brought both ample yields and stellar quality. France faced its share of difficulties, from drought to hail, but in the end, most regions are reporting phenomenal and concentrated results.  In Italy hail and rain were issues but the Coldiretti, the farmers’ union, reports an expected 15 percent increase in production. The USA thankfully did not experience the same fire issues as 2017. Portugal, Austria and England have also reported favorable results.
