In a time when we’d welcome both a spot of good news, and an excuse to enjoy a glass of red wine, a recent study on flavonoids provides just that. Flavonoids are polyphenol compounds such as anthocyanins, a compound found in red wine. The study looked at the diets of participants in five sets of four-year studies and found that those who consumed less flavonoids had a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s or related dementia. Don’t forget to have a glass of red tonight!
