Petrus Purchases
French daily Les Echos reported that a 20% stake of Petrus, maker of the famed 100% Merlot, was purchased by Alejandro Santo Domingo, an American-Colombian billionaire. Petrus has been owned by the Moueix family since the 1960’s. It’s said they have known the Santo Domingos for a long time. The Pomerol vigneron makes what is regarded as some of the finest red wine in the world.
