James Lawrence of Wine-Searcher interviewed Jean-Guillaume Prats, first-growth Château Lafite’s CEO on his journey to the job and his thoughts on this vintage and what is to come. Prats cut his teeth at premium wine chateau Cos d’Estournel then left the Medoc for a job at LVMH before being called back to his birth home by the Rothschild estate. He wants Lafite to be able to evolve with the times—for instance the château’s made the choice to champion more sustainable and biodynamic viticulture.
