Spanish wine may call to mind Rioja, but some of the finest wines are coming from all corners of the country. In a round up of the country’s most expensive wines a wine made of Tempranillo is at the top, but it hails from Toro, where the grape is known as Tinta del Toro. The winery in question is Sierra Cantabria, whose “Teso La Manja fetches a cool $1129. Want to buy fine red wine from Spain that is not Tempranillo? Look to Bierzo, where La Descendientes de J. Palacios La Faraona is made of the Mencia grape. Third in the list is a Dominio de Pingus “Pingus” made of 100% Tempranillo in Ribera del Duero. Rounding out the list of top ten most expensive Spanish wines are bottles from Rioja, Priorat, and more Ribera del Duero. Click through for the list!
