The Terroir of Legends

The Terroir of Legends

The village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a subregion of the Côte de Blancs in Champagne is home to the vineyards yielding the Chardonnay grapes used in what some consider the pinnacle of fine wine: Krug Clos de Mesnil, a single vineyard wine and Salon de Mesnil, a blend of 20 vineyards. The terroir of the village creates wines with exceptional acid, the secret to wine that can age for decades. The Chardonnay is also incredibly concentrated and intense, a trademark of Krug.
