Saskia Rothschild Steps Up

Saskia Rothschild Steps Up

by Westgarth Wines June 15, 2018

Baron Eric de Rothschild, who served as chairman of Domaines Baron de Rothschild (Lafite) for 44 years, is passing the baton to daughter Saskia. The first female to lead DBR, she served as co-chairman with her father for the two years in preparation for her new position. Her challenges include managing not just the esteemed first growth Lafite, but a portfolio that includes brands elsewhere in France as well as Chile and Argentina. Together with the new CEO Jean-Guillaume Prats she will also be strategizing how Bordeaux can appeal the next generation. At age 31, Saskia appears to be the right person for the job.
