The Bordeaux en primeur releases continue!

by Westgarth Wines May 08, 2019

Angelus kicked off the en primeur releases last week leading with lower prices. This week third growth Château Langoa-Barton and fourth growth Château Branaire-Ducru bucked the trend, releasing their 2018 vintage at higher prices. Langoa-Barton can cite receiving scores on par with 2010 as reason for a higher ticket. Also receiving excellent reviews but opening with lower prices is Suduira ut, a Sauternes. Despite the strength of the year there is less thirst for dessert wines these days and a lower price is likely a savvy move.
