Stock Up on Chateau d’Yquem’s latest!

by Westgarth Wines January 21, 2019

The most-famed Sauternes will be in scanty quantities when the 2018 vintage is released. The estate has reported that production was down 40% last year due to coulure during flowering, mildew from May to July and an epic hailstorm in July. You may want to plan ahead and stock up on their latest release, the 2016 vintage that promises to be both interesting due to an unusually slow botrytisation. Sauternes can last a long time, so grab a few bottles and see how they evolve!
