Penfolds Historic Bottling

Penfolds Historic Bottling

by Westgarth Wines August 31, 2020

This August, Australias legendary Penfolds Grange will release a once-in-a-lifetime bottle. The wine is named g4, as it will be a blend of four of the producers most lauded vintages. The 2002 Grange was described as being cooler and sleeker. The 2004 is bigger in style, as is the 2008, which explains its 100-point rating from both Wine Spectator and Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. The last piece of the puzzle is the 2016 to add a bit of modern freshness to the mix.

There will only be 2,500 bottles produced, which are expected to retail around 3,000 dollars apiece—not a small price for those who buy fine wine, but the wine is of priceless quality, seeing as the four vintages of g4 are thought of as being perfect. The g4 will become available on August 6th and is likely to go quickly, but there are many single vintage bottlings of Penfolds Grange to enjoy!
