Merry Edwards Meets Champagne

by Westgarth Wines March 11, 2019

Champagne house Roederer has expanded its California holdings with the purchase of Russian River notable Merry Edwards Winery, adding to its collection including Roederer Estate in Anderson Valley, Sharffenberger Cellars, and Domaine Anderson. Edwards reports feeling a strong connection with Roederer CEO Frédéric Rouzaud, who was likewise confident that her winery’s story and values were a fit for him. Well-known as one of California’s first female to craft fine wine, Edwards thought carefully about who would be best to foster her winery, known for their Pinot Noirs and Sauvignon Blanc into the future.
