Leroy Sets Sales Records
Sale after sale, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti kept setting records. It had remained the most expensive wine in the world for four years. Well, there is a new champion now. The Domaine Leroy Musigny Grand Cru now has an average price of 22,049 dollars—quite a hike from the 5,658 dollars it sold for five years ago. Of course, in some ways it isn’t a step down for Romanée-Conti. Lalou Bize-Leroy, owner of Domaine Leroy, remains a shareholder of DRC, so the record is staying in the family.
