Krug’s Chef

Krug’s Chef

by Westgarth Wines February 27, 2019

Eric Lebel has been chef de cave at Krug since 1999. His thoughts on “Grande Cuvée”, the Krug tête de cuvée can be accessed by scanning the label into the Krug app, but if you are thirsty for more in the meantime, an interview published by Vine Pair provides a few insights. Lebel’s love of Krug shines—when asked about his favorite bar he replied, “In New York, I love Compagnie des Vins Surnaturel but in France, I would have to say the Krug tasting room”. He also confesses that if he couldn’t drink wine he’d drink Hennessy Cognac. For someone whose love of wine runs so deep it makes sense that his spirit of choice is a distilled and aged wine. If you can’t buy fine wine, try distilled wine!
