A Small Bit of Good News From Italy
For all of us concerned about how our favorite wines from Italy are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, a bright spot of news is out there for lovers of the Super Tuscan Ornellaia. The director of the estate, Axel Heinz says that they intend to release their 2017 vintage on schedule, in May. Heinz calls the vintage a “chameleon”. At present it is ripe and lavish, but in five to seven years he predicts it will “calm down and reveal finesse”. With all that is going on, we can at least look forward to years of fine wine tasting.
