To Be a Master of Wine
The most recent Master of Wine exam was a test of knowledge and nerves, as candidates had to write five essays on topics as varied as labor availability and to how they’d use a windfall to invest in the industry. Presumably, the answer was not to buy premium wine and drink it all. The blind tasting section was equally diverse, testing whether candidates could identify wines from the Loire classics to Lagrein from Alto Adige and more. Those who receive their MW most certainly deserve it!
