Crus of Barolo
Barolo is a region that is making more and more of the fine red wine so many revere. Thanks to global warming, patches of vineyard that used to not be suitable for Nebbiolo are, and as more plantings take place, winemakers are finding it more important than ever to distinguish one terroir from another. Ian D’Agata describes it as “Burgundization”. If you want to learn more firsthand, a good starting point would be trying a Barolo from La Morra against one from Monforte. The difference the land can make is profound.
