Bordeaux Futures Forecast

Bordeaux Futures Forecast

by Westgarth Wines June 12, 2019

Will it be sunny skies and smooth sailing for 2018 Bordeaux? As more producers release their futures, the prices have picked up. Case in point is Château Lynch Bages releasing at 20% higher than last year. Whether consumers will buy fine wine at elevated prices it is hard to say. Given the stellar quality of the vintage, which has yielded wines tailor-made for American audiences, many are optimistic. However, if history repeats itself, higher prices may stall out: the 2016 vintage remains at opening rates. So using caution may be prudent. On the other hand, if you are a Bordeaux lover you may want to get in at opening price, regardless of what happens.
