Bordeaux 2018 Promises

Bordeaux 2018 Promises

by Westgarth Wines January 28, 2019

Despite battles against rain in the first 6 months of 2018, followed by the threat of mildew, the 2018 vintage of Bordeaux promises great things. The vines responsible for the fine red wine of Pomerol in particular, managed to miss the hailstorms that terrorized much of the rest of the region. 2018 may be better than the 2015 and 2016. Yields were up significantly from 2017, when Europe was hit with two nights of frost that reduced yields immensely. Fortunately for us thirsty win fans, the strife of 2018 resulted in less damage.
