Biondi Santi Past and Future

by Westgarth Wines June 25, 2019

Brunello di Montalcino was put on the map when Biondi Santi bottled a wine made of 100% Sangiovese Grosso and christened it Brunello. The family had been producing wine in the Tuscan region since the middle ages. In 2016 current head winemaker and president Jacopo sold a large share of Biondi Santi to French wine and fashion house EPI but stayed on in his position. His son Tancredi is co-winemaker and brand ambassador. The two sat down to talk about their roles in the company, and some of their upcoming fine Italian wine ventures in Brunello di Montalcino and beyond.
