Bordeaux 2017 Sales Suffer
The 2015 and 2016 Bordeaux vintages were considered the cream of the crop. 2017, while not disparaged, garnered less praise. The futures sales corresponded to lower ratings, with Chateaus like Cheval Blanc releasing its grand vin at a 22% drop from 2016. Wine Spectators’ James Molesworth says of the 2017s that you can expect fresh reds that can be consumed earlier, superb whites and outstanding Sauternes and Barsac. At lower rates, this could be a good time to stock up on carefully sourced fine wine.
